BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) — In order to vigorously cultivate and practice the core socialist values, carry forward traditional Chinese virtues, and foster a new ethos and appearance for our times, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Office of the Central Commission for Spiritual Civilization, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the Communist Youth League Central Committee, the All-China Women’s Federation, and the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission have recently issued the “Notice on the Selection and Commendation of the Ninth National Role Models of Morality” (the full text of which is distributed separately) along with the Implementation Measures, thereby launching the selection and commendation of the ninth cohort of national role models of morality. The notice calls for extensive study and publicity campaigns centered on these role models, guiding the public to admire, learn from, and strive to become role models of morality, so as to promote a robust social atmosphere characterized by reverence for virtue and goodness, emulation of the virtuous, and the pursuit of moral excellence in all spheres of life.
